From 15 to 26 March on working days the Regional Centre for Blood Donation and Blood Therapy is organising a mobile team visit to Bolesławiec. RCKiK:
We will be stationed near the Bolesławieckie Cultural Centre, pl. Marszałka Piłsudskiego 1C, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
It is very important to us to reach as many potential donors as possible, because a decline in donations is visible (approximately 3% in 2018), while the demand for this precious gift continues to grow.
Blood cannot be manufactured; donating it is a shared social goal.
What is impossible without blood?
- performing major surgery
- treating some cancers or burns.
It takes so little—just 450 ml—to save as many as 3 people!
What does the donor gain?
- preventive medical examinations (specialist)
- the satisfaction of helping
- a caloric equivalent
- may use programmes of the National Blood Centre
- also directly ensures continuity in supplying the hospital with medication (platelets, plasma and red blood cells).
The Centre:
It should be emphasised that the number of patients requiring the help of haematologists is steadily increasing, and in our area it is higher than in other regions of Poland.
According to WHO projections, by 2030 the number of deaths caused by cancer could exceed 17 million.
