In 2020, cars with green license plates will appear on our roads. As reported by businessinsider.com.pl:
The upcoming change is the result of the Act on Electromobility and Alternative Fuels. The document states that “an electric vehicle and a hydrogen-powered vehicle have license plates indicating the type of fuel used to power them”. The digits and letters, in turn, will remain black.
There will also be stickers: with a red border for electric cars and a yellow one for hydrogen-powered cars. (The changes will not apply to hybrids).
Why are officials introducing green plates?

Green license plates are intended to eliminate many problems. For example, when using bus lanes, drivers and police officers will know that we are driving an electric car and have the right to use that lane. The same applies when entering a clean transport zone. It will be similar with free parking—inspectors will immediately know that a given car is exempt from the fee.
Those who have already registered their cars will not have to replace their plates. The new regulations will enter into force at the beginning of next year. Details at businessinsider.com.pl.
