On Friday, May 1, Bolesławiec Bridge Club organized the third edition of the Friends of Bridge Tournament. The event was part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the club’s founding. BKB players, who normally compete at league tables, competed in pairs with children or amateurs.

Thirty-six bridge players took part in this year’s competition, including member of the Bolesławiec County Board Dariusz Kwaśniewski, who, as he himself said, had last played bridge… 25 years ago.

The event was opened by County Council chairman Karol Stasik, while the prizes were presented by deputy county governor Stanisław Chwojnicki. Neither man, however, accepted the invitation to take a seat at the green table.

The tournament was won by the pair Zofia Diakowska – Wojciech Sękowski, ahead of two family duos: Mateusz Zimniak (13) – Sławomir Zimniak and Rafał Molenda (12) – Jarosław Molenda.
