The incident occurred on Sunday, February 3, before 6:00 p.m., in the village of Parzyce (Nowogrodziec gmina).

Fire broke out on the roof of one of the buildings. There were five people in the house, and everyone got outside. Firefighters from JRG Bolesławiec were dispatched to the scene, along with volunteer firefighters from Czerna, Wykroty, Nowogrodziec (both units), and Brzeźnik. (A fire engine from Zgorzelec was also dispatched, but was later called off).

The entire attic burned down. The losses were estimated at more than PLN 400,000.

As reported on the zrzutka.pl portal:

[…] a house belonging to 68-year-old Mrs. Zdzisława burned down in Parzyce. The building is unfit for renovation and reoccupation. It requires demolition. Mrs. Zdzisia lost everything she had worked for throughout her life.

Fortunately, Mrs. Zdzisława and the tenants—parents with two young children—to whom she rented the apartment were unharmed.

The elderly woman is currently staying with her son, but the living conditions require the attic to be renovated for Mrs. Zdzisława. Her children want their mother to have a peaceful place of her own.

The building was insured, but the proposed insurance payout is significantly lower than the family expected. [...]
