The incident occurred after 3:40 a.m. during the night from Monday to Tuesday on national road 94.
In Wilczy Las, near a petrol station, two vehicles collided head-on: a Volkswagen Polo passenger car and a Fiat Ducato car transporter with a trailer.
One of the drivers was unconscious after the collision. Firefighters performed resuscitation, but unfortunately they were unable to restore his vital functions.
The 52-year-old VW driver, a resident of Bolesławiec, died at the scene. Police are investigating the causes of the tragedy.
