On April 17, we wrote that members of the MOSiR Employees’ Trade Union had informed the OPZZ District Council that director Dariusz Jośko had intimidated his employees. The union members maintain that Jośko surveilled them, subjected them to workplace bullying and threatened them with job loss. All because of their membership in the trade union established in March this year.
The conflict between the union members and the MOSiR director was the subject of the “Na światło dzienne” program, which we broadcast on Thursday, April 23. Today, Dariusz Jośko responded to the information presented in the program. We publish his statement below.
Bolesławiec, April 25, 2009
STATEMENT
In connection with the statement made by an employee of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec, Mr Franciszek Walski, Chairman of the MOSiR Employees’ Trade Union, during the “Na światło dzienne” program broadcast on the Istotne Informacje portal, I hereby inform you that:
- I did not encourage employees to leave the trade union
- I did not make the extension of an employment contract dependent on membership or non-membership in the trade union, but on the quality of work
- I systematically met with the staff and management and informed them about the Centre’s achievements and development plans
- I drew the management’s attention to the observed loosening of work discipline and the need to restore it
At the same time, I declare that the position of the Mayor of Bolesławiec quoted by Mr Franciszek Walski regarding the trade union’s letter is untrue. During a meeting with the Centre’s employees on April 21 this year, I conveyed the position of the Mayor of Bolesławiec, making further action in the matter dependent on the Prosecutor’s Office’s decision.
I hope that good cooperation with all the unions operating at the Centre will contribute to the further development of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre.
Yours sincerely
MOSiR Director
MSc Eng. Dariusz Jośko
Below, we present the “Na światło dzienne” program, whose guest was Franciszek Walski, chairman of the trade union members at the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec.
