The event was attended by the starosta of Bolesławiec County, Tomasz Gabrysiak, and the deputy mayor of the city, Kornel Filipowicz, as well as representatives of the municipal and county authorities. At 11:30, residents gathered in the Market Square and lit candles together, arranging them in the shape of a heart. Those who wished could also take part in the funeral ceremonies broadcast on a large screen from St. Mary's Basilica in Gdańsk.
Since 15 January, a condolence book dedicated to the memory of Gdańsk president Paweł Adamowicz has been available in the lobby of Bolesławiec Town Hall.
On Sunday at 8:00 p.m., people showing solidarity with Jurek Owsiak and those affected by the death of President Paweł Adamowicz will also meet in Bolesławiec Market Square, as part of the #MuremZaOwsiakiem action.
