The matter was discussed by Mayor Piotr Roman during the January session of the Bolesławiec City Council. “The Bolesławiec Resident Card will become increasingly useful and will provide more and more benefits,” he announced. “There is a plan concerning parking in the city: how to make it paid, but as little of a burden as possible for residents.
The mayor mentioned that the Municipality of Bolesławiec intends to take over the county roads in the city center (the area of the former city diameter, from Garncarska and Łokietka to Chrobrego), and then introduce parking fees in that center.
The mayor emphasized that Bolesławiec is probably the last city of this size in Poland that has not introduced such a solution. (The system introduced by Mińsk Mazowiecki is being analyzed in detail.)
Mr. Roman also noted that the solution in question would be least burdensome for holders of the Bolesławiec Resident Card, who would pay “very small fees” or even park for free.
