Elżbieta Erban wrote on her Facebook page:
This terrible act is the result of years of young people shouting: “ONCE WITH THE SICKLE, ONCE WITH THE HAMMER, THE RED RABBLE” or “INSTEAD OF LEAVES, COMMUNISTS WILL HANG FROM THE TREES.” It is the result of the activities of Radio Maryja and TV Trwam, spreading hatred and dividing Poles, as well as government members who took this kind of activity lightly. Even before the WOŚP began, Rydzyk shouted that Owsiak was Satan, that his Orchestra was a devilish temptation, and urged people not to take part in it.
For a psychopath or a nationalist possessed by hatred, this is enough to drive him to attack, regardless of whom; it is enough that the victim does not belong to PiS. The knife attacker who killed Mr Adamowicz bragged about his deed. I am beginning to feel ashamed that I am Polish. I am ashamed of this government and of the voters who elected it. This is no longer the Poland I was once proud of.
