The mayor rejected the possibility of organizing preschool classes in schools. During the session, Piotr Roman explained that, in his opinion, only kindergartens provide the best conditions for a child’s full development and proper preparation for school.

During the session, councillors adopted new rules for granting and reimbursing special-purpose and periodic benefits, material assistance, and benefits for achieving economic independence. The latter will have to be repaid in full. The remaining benefits will be repaid at rates depending on income.

The councillors also adopted new rules governing the awarding of scholarships to students. They will be available to outstanding sixth-graders with an average of at least 5.6 and students in the final classes of lower-secondary schools with an average of at least 5.4. Those with outstanding achievements in science, the arts or sport may also receive funding.
