On December 19, 2018, in the afternoon, the fourth-grade students, together with the school choir Ave Maria, introduced everyone at Primary School No. 3 to the festive atmosphere.

This year’s performance, entitled “The House of Bread, or Celebrating as a Family,” also featured parents together with their children. In the first part of the performance, the students recreated events from more than two thousand years ago, when the infant Jesus was born in Bethlehem.

The children played the roles of Mary and Joseph, angels, shepherds, and kings arriving to pay homage to Jesus, who was born in a humble stable.

Next, the Holy Family was invited by the participating parents to their home, where empty places traditionally awaited them at the Christmas Eve table. Christmas carols and pastorales added charm to the performance, filling everyone with festive joy and allowing everyone to feel the atmosphere of Christmas.

The students delighted the audience with beautiful singing and performances on the accordion, guitar, violin, and cello, enhancing the shared celebration.

The performance was exceptional because, for the first time, parents appeared together with their children in our school’s Nativity play. The beautiful stage design gave this special gathering a festive and solemn atmosphere.

The ceremony was also attended by invited guests: Kornel Filipowicz – deputy mayor, Eugeniusz Kowalski – former deputy chair of the City Council and former school principal, Adam Biesiadecki – city councillor, Barbara Smoleńska – president of the Society of Friends of Lviv and the Southeastern Borderlands, Barbara Dąbrowska-Bugaj – former school principal, Lucyna Szczegodzińska – former school principal, as well as former teachers and school employees.

During the ceremony, Halina Rudzik and Adrian Banyś also presented awards to the winners of religious and German-language competitions. The school principal, Dorota Basiak and the invited guests extended their wishes to everyone and expressed their thanks for preparing the moving ceremony.

After the performance, a Christmas Eve gathering was held for the entire school community and the invited guests.

The Nativity play was prepared by religion teacher Halina Rudzik together with the school’s students, with the assistance of the fourth-grade teachers. The organizers of the Nativity play extend their heartfelt thanks to the parents and students who took part in the performance, as well as to everyone involved in this beautiful school ceremony.
