The incident occurred on Thursday, December 20, in the evening, in Godzieszów (Nowogrodziec gmina). The uniformed services received a report of a building fire.
As Godzieszów is located some distance from Bolesławiec, under an agreement between the Bolesławiec command and neighbouring units, PSP firefighters from Lubań were dispatched to the scene first. (They were closer).
It turned out that tyres were burning. (Cause: accidental ignition.) The fire spread from them to the building’s façade, and from there to a rafter of the barn.
Fortunately, the efforts of the first fire service units were effective enough to save the building. No one was injured.
Fourteen fire service units took part in the operation, including three from the District Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec.
