This year, the classes took place on December 11–14 and 18–21 in the City History Department building at 14 Kutuzowa Street. Although they lasted as many as eight days, the participant lists filled up quickly. Under the supervision of instructors, participants made Christmas tree decorations, chains and festive arrangements. They used materials that normally have other purposes: cotton pads, plastic cups, straws, cupcake molds, ice-cream sticks, toothpicks, buttons, corks and bottle caps, and colorful yarn. Of course, there was also colored paper, glue, paints, glitter and sequins, adding sparkle and Christmas magic to the decorations. Each participant could take the decorations they had made home to decorate their house or school for the holiday season.
Participation in this year’s workshops was free of charge, as their organization was financed by the “Bolesławiec-Vrchlabí – active cross-border cooperation between museums” project. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund as part of the INTERREG V-A Czech Republic-Poland 2014–2020 Operational Programme.
