The incident occurred on Tuesday, 18 December, in Zebrzydowa (Nowogrodziec gmina). After 6 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to smoke in one of the semi-detached houses. However, the owners had already gone outside and ventilated the building.

Unfortunately, smoke appeared in the neighboring unit, in the basement. The smoke entered the apartment, where four people were present. All four were evacuated.

Once the firefighters extinguished the furnace and ventilated the house, it turned out that there was no longer any danger.

Three of those affected, mildly intoxicated by smoke, were taken to hospital for observation. Fortunately, no one suffered anything more serious. (The other residents did not want to go to the ZOZ).

As we managed to establish, the smoke was caused by the residents... burning unsuitable fuel in the furnace.

Five fire service units took part in the operation: two from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Bolesławiec, two from OSP Nowogrodziec and one from OSP Zebrzydowa.
