How will the nationwide protest by court employees affect the work of this court in Bolesławiec? Joanna Moroz-Korycka, head of the District Court:

On December 12, 2018, 24 people (out of 41 clerical employees) did not come to work. The absent employees submitted sick-leave certificates. Five hearings were scheduled for today, and despite these absences, all of them are taking place. Court activities are currently being carried out by judges, a judge assessor and court referendaries, with the support of the clerical employees and the court director who are present at work.

Despite the significant absence of employees, we are taking ongoing measures to ensure that urgent cases are heard in the coming days, including detention cases and cases in the family division, particularly those concerning children.

If it becomes necessary to cancel hearings, information about this will appear on the court’s website www.boleslawiec.sr.gov.pl. Judges will schedule the earliest possible dates for the cancelled cases. The parties will be informed of changes to hearing dates.

She adds:

The situation at the court is currently difficult because the full clerical staff is not present, but we are making every effort to ensure that cases are heard on the dates scheduled earlier. The absence of some employees may cause problems with telephone information services.

I would like to point out that the clerical staff of our court is highly specialized and performs responsible and difficult work every day, while clerical employees’ salaries have not been significantly increased for several years.
