When we reported on our website that Santa Claus had appeared in Bolesławiec’s Market Square, readers began asking why he had arrived specifically on a motorcycle.
As we managed to establish, the reason is prosaic: it was simply... the only Santa available.
But perhaps that is just as well, because there is no snow, so even the bearded saint from Lapland would have difficulty reaching the City of Ceramics by sleigh ;).
MZGM encourages Bolesławiec residents to take photos with Santa Claus.
What do you think of the new Christmas decoration in Bolesławiec’s Market Square? We invite you to join the discussion.
This is not the first Christmas decoration in our Market Square. Last week, we reported that a Christmas tree, two cups and a teapot had appeared there. (We were able to reconstruct the installation of the decorations thanks to two cameras that transmit an image continuously. One of the cameras shows the city fountain, while the other shows the eastern wall of the Market Square, where Oleńka restaurant is located).
Critical comments from readers appeared immediately below the report about the Christmas decorations. Zaq:
In my opinion, the previous colors were more fitting.

Unattractive. Spring motifs that do not create a festive atmosphere.
As istotne.pl was told by Kazimierz Łomotowski, head of MZGM, the intention was by no means to use spring colors. The colors of the Christmas decorations that appeared in our Market Square were inspired, on the one hand, by the national colors (after all, this year we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence!), and on the other hand by our Bolesławiec gold—that is, ceramics.
