The smell of crescent rolls spread through the school from early morning. On that day, every student could try croissants baked by parents, distinguished by their filling of white poppy seeds, dried fruit and nuts.

Older students prepared a special meeting with Classes I–III for the celebration, during which they introduced the students to the most important events in the life of Saint Martin, in both Polish and German. During the meeting, the students watched a multimedia presentation and even a fairy-tale version of the legend of Saint Martin, which everyone viewed with great attention and interest. There was also musical accompaniment: the choir performed the song “Blessed Are the Merciful” and the German-school favorite “Ich geh mit meiner Laterne.” The Student Council also introduced the students of our school to the history and figure of Saint Martin by preparing a poster with useful German vocabulary. On that day, students in Classes IV–VIII were also introduced to the story of Saint Martin and the traditions and customs associated with this holiday.
The aim of the project was to familiarize the student community with Saint Martin, whose figure is associated with doing good for others, as well as to acquaint students with the culture and traditions of German-speaking countries.

The school community once again became involved in the “Pontifical Missionary Childhood Association” campaign, connected with collecting money for missions supporting children in Africa and intended to make students more sensitive to the needs and problems of their peers.

This school year, in accordance with the legend of Saint Martin, who shared his cloak with a beggar, the funds collected will be donated by the Parents’ Council to teaching aids for the school’s students, as well as to help children in Africa.
