We received a report from a reader à propos a sick duck that is staying in the municipal pond by Bankowa Street. The reader:
This was reported to MZGM and to the city office. There were assurances that the matter would be dealt with. Nothing. Several weeks have passed and the duck is still sitting there. It cannot walk.
She added:
We called Klekusiowo, but unfortunately they cannot do anything either. You simply cannot watch this duck suffer. And nobody wants to help it. It is constantly sitting on that little island.
Klekusiowo Wild Animal Rehabilitation Centre in Tomaszów Bolesławiecki explains:
We have been observing the duck for some time. It swims and feeds despite its disability. It has balance disorders. Only examining it on site will make it possible to determine the cause of the disorder.
It adds:
If someone is able to catch it, the Centre will gladly take it into its care, examine it and, if necessary, provide veterinary assistance.
