On Friday, November 23, we reported that the south-eastern Bolesławiec bypass had opened. (The new section is 4 km long and connects the Solidarności roundabout in Kruszyn with the roundabout near the forester’s lodge on Jeleniogórska Street.)

A bicycle path was built alongside the bypass—and it is a bicycle path par excellence, because formally (the signs say so!) only cyclists may use it. In other words, it is not a path for walkers, rollerblading enthusiasts or people riding scooters.

The authorities of the Lower Silesian Road and Railway Service believe that a bypass is not a place for walking. And if someone wants to go for a walk, Bolesławiec has better places to offer than the path alongside the newly opened road.
