12 councillors voted in favor of the candidacy of Jarosław Nenkin (Bezpartyjni Samorządowcy), while 11 voted for Ryszard Kalus (Democratic Left Alliance).
Interestingly, both men are firefighters. J. Nenkin works at the State Fire Service County Headquarters in Bolesławiec, while R. Kalus is the chief of the Volunteer Fire Service in Nowogrodziec.
