We were informed about the matter by a Reader, a friend of Bartosz Mikulski. The latter, together with his father, decided to mark the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence in an unusual way.
Bolesławiec residents cleaned the beaches of the gravel pit, the so-called swimming area. B. Mikulski:
[…] together with my dad, we marked 100 years of Poland’s independence!!! Not with a march, flares or flags—but with a garbage bag!We cleaned the beaches of the gravel pit, the so-called “swimming area.” I spent every summer of my childhood on this beach.
The two men collected 190 kilograms of rubbish from an area of approximately 4 ares.
The event’s organizer emphasizes: “I hope that thanks to my initiative, people will think before illegally dumping rubbish.”
He immediately announces:
This is not just a one-time event! The next cleanup will take place on December 1, if it does not snow.
