On 5 November 2018, Zespół Szkół Handlowych i Usługowych in Bolesławiec hosted a meeting with the outstanding writer Iwona Banach (“Szczęśliwy pech”, “Lokator do wynajęcia”, “Czarci krąg”, “Maski zła”), who can undoubtedly be called a Friend of the School.
The meeting, attended by enthusiasts of the author’s work, was devoted this time to learning how to write a blog and to a proposal to collaborate on creating a library blog at ZSHiU. Iwona Banach prepared a multimedia presentation on the subject and showed, step by step, how to begin reviewing books; she encouraged young people to evaluate books for young people. She gave the students many practical tips and talked about her own blogging adventures.
She showed them the fascinating world of the Internet, which offers great opportunities to obtain books free of charge for themselves or the school library, simply by running a blog or taking part in reading competitions announced by various online portals.

Meetings with a writer are a time of intense intellectual engagement for students. They all read the author’s books and eagerly await the opportunity for a personal conversation, then discuss the meeting at length in the quiet of the school library.
