On Tuesday, November 6, a basketball tournament was held in the gymnasium of Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec (Jana Pawła II Street).
Soldiers from Bolesławiec’s 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment once again faced military personnel from the US Army (the 91st Engineer Battalion). The aim was to mark Independence Day, this time the Polish one. (On July 4, soldiers from Bolesławiec and the United States had marked the American holiday with a basketball game at I LO.)
In both cases, the Americans came out on top, which does not mean that our artillerymen went down without a fight. The November game was closely contested from the start and ended with a 55–47 victory for the visiting team.
The event was organized by: the Municipality of Bolesławiec, the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre, the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, the Inter-School Sports Centre and Primary School No. 1 in Bolesławiec.
