The ceremony was prepared by students from classes 1a, 1b, 4c and 8a under the guidance of the first-grade form teachers: Melania Balińska and Anetta Kramarska. Gizela Grabowska and Adrian Banyś, the guardian of the School’s Standard and Flag Guard, also provided assistance.
The ceremony was also attended by Kornel Filipowicz, deputy mayor, Jarosław Kowalski, chair of the City Council, Eugeniusz Kowalski, deputy chair of the City Council, as well as the school’s former headteacher and Adam Biesiadecki, councillor.
The first-graders presented an artistic programme consisting of songs and poems about respecting others, helping those who are weaker, and fulfilling pupils’ responsibilities. The audience’s enthusiastic applause showed that the children had prepared exceptionally well.
The official part followed the artistic programme. The school standard was brought in together with the flag guard. After the flag was raised and the national anthem and school anthem were sung, the first-grade pupils pledged to be good Poles, represent their school with dignity, and bring joy to their parents and teachers through their conduct and learning.
After the pledge, the school’s headteacher, Dorota Basiak, together with Eugeniusz Kowalski and Adam Biesiadecki, formally inducted the children as pupils of Primary School No. 3 using a symbolic pencil.
After the induction ceremony, the headteacher, parents and the first-grade teachers gave the children gifts in the form of “horns of plenty.” Refreshments prepared by the parents were waiting for the pupils in their classrooms. The gifts brought tremendous joy to all the pupils.
The ceremony took place in a pleasant atmosphere. Parents, grandparents and teachers, together with pupils from classes I–VIII, congratulated the first-graders on joining the school community and wished them success in their studies.
