The daring theft took place at Bolesławiec station. Under cover of the rainy night, the thief sneaked onto the station grounds and filled canisters with diesel fuel from a locomotive. However, he was unaware that modern security systems monitor the diesel fuel level in the locomotive’s tank in real time.

The SOK and Police officers arrived at the scene shortly afterwards and caught the perpetrator red-handed. By then, the thief had managed to fill 20 canisters, each holding 25 litres—a total of 500 litres of diesel fuel. The officers secured the physical evidence and prepared official documentation at the scene of the theft.

The 25-year-old detainee was taken to the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. He will soon be charged.
