As we read in the presentation prepared by the Bolesławiec county hospital:
The main aim of constructing the operating and treatment complex at the Healthcare Centre in Bolesławiec—for the needs of the Central Sterilisation Unit, Operating Theatre, Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care, and other ancillary functions, as well as a link to the hospital’s main building—is to improve patients’ medical conditions and adapt the existing hospital facilities to the applicable regulations in order to ensure the proper functioning of the Healthcare Centre in Bolesławiec.
The investment will involve constructing a new three-storey building, together with a usable and technical attic, directly connected—through the construction of a link at the second-storey level—with the existing main hospital building […].
Let us recall. On Wednesday, 17 October, the official opening of the “Construction of an Operating Theatre” investment took place at the county hospital in Bolesławiec. The first to speak was Bolesławiec County head Karol Stasik: “In a moment, we will symbolically begin construction of the operating theatre at the Healthcare Centre in Bolesławiec. This will be an unusual investment, because it will begin with the demolition of the old building.”
The head of the Bolesławiec County Board also said, among other things, that the investment would cost PLN 14 million. The county has already allocated— in two instalments—PLN 1.8 million to prepare the documentation.
The first stage of the investment officially began on 17 October. Further stages will be carried out in the coming years. “It is a good start. We can see important local-government officials here, Marshal Cezary Przybylski and Mayor Piotr Roman. In the coming years, we will also ask them to dig deep and support our hospital,” K. Stasik emphasised.
“It was the happiest day of the year for me,” said Tomasz Gabrysiak, Bolesławiec deputy county head, “when a week ago I saw those fences and the crane appear at the construction site. I am very pleased that director Adam Zdaniuk managed to secure a good contractor. These days, that is a difficult task. And we know it is a good contractor because it is the same company that built the Knowledge Centre in Bolesławiec.”
“The new operating theatre is essential,” T. Gabrysiak stressed. “It guarantees that our hospital will continue to exist—and, above all, that it will develop. Today, 2,000 operations and procedures are performed here; the new theatre will allow this number to increase to 3,000.”
Adam Zdaniuk, head of the Healthcare Centre in Bolesławiec:
I would like to thank you for your support to date. The sums we received during the last term amount to hundreds of thousands. Without them, there would be no infectious diseases ward and no equipment for anaesthesiology and intensive care, the Emergency Department or other wards. I sincerely thank you for that.
Mayor Piotr Roman spoke about two years of cooperation between two local governments: Bolesławiec County and the Municipality of Bolesławiec; and about how the three priority issues for municipal and county officials were:
- county roads in the City of Ceramics (Ogrodowa, Polna, Dolne Młyny, Mostowa and Staszica streets were renovated)
- a new building for the special school. “There is no longer any threat,” the mayor noted. “The special school will finally get a building that meets the needs of children with disabilities”
- the county hospital.
“By starting construction of the new operating theatre, we have completed this triad,” Piotr Roman concluded. “I hope we will continue to be able to support the Bolesławiec hospital. This item is first on our programme.”
As the Healthcare Centre director assures us, patients have no reason to worry. The investment will not interfere with the facility’s operations in any way; it will continue working at full capacity throughout.
