The natural gas odorization campaign, which Polska Spółka Gazownictwa will carry out on October 15–16 in Bolesławiec and Nowogrodziec, involves increasing the amount of odorant in the gas network, making the smell of gas more intense.
The odorization campaign is carried out with the safety of gas consumers in mind—to detect any leaks in the network or gas installations. If you smell escaping gas, immediately close the valve at the gas meter or gas appliance and promptly notify the Gas Emergency Service by calling 992.
A detectable smell of gas may indicate either a leak in the gas network or installation, or a malfunction of gas appliances, such as contaminated burners.
The services of Polska Spółka Gazownictwa inspect and repair the gas network, while eliminating identified faults in internal installations in buildings and gas appliances is the responsibility of the owners or managers of the properties.
Under applicable law, the owner or administrator of a building is responsible for the technical condition of internal installations. Repairs of leaks in internal installations and gas appliances should be commissioned to the building manager or a company authorized to carry out gas-related work.
