Several hundred signatures were collected in an hour from people who understand how difficult it is to grow up in a home devoid of love. In a home where the most important person for a child—the mother—is an alcoholic. A tragedy occurred in Dominik's home. Dominik is awaiting a verdict. Many compassionate and sensitive people understand that this case is not easy and that Dominik needs support from people outside his home.

The action was organized by the Polish Psychopedagogical Society. The main activity during the picnic was collecting more signatures for the petition “Let’s Free Dominik K.”, initiated by the president of the Polish Psychopedagogical Society, Dawid Kołodziej. Dominik’s defense lawyer, Wojciech Kasprzyk, also led the action. Through his commitment and work, he helped Dominik leave detention and face the proceedings while remaining at liberty. Since leaving detention, Dominik has not missed a single day of work. This gives hope that his world can be rebuilt.

During the picnic, Joanna Piekarz’s ZUMBA team invited everyone to join in the fun during a dance performance in Bolesławiec’s market square. Daniel Milewicz, a guest at the event, said a few words about the role of diet and physical development in maintaining health. President Piotr Roman, who also attended the picnic, thanked Wojciech Kasprzyk and Dawid Kołodziej for the initiative and added that Dominik’s case is one of those requiring public support. He was pleased that so many people responded by attending.

There were games, face painting, balloon twisting, an art corner for children and delicious homemade cake for everyone who came to the picnic. Volunteers from the Polish Psychopedagogical Society took part in the action.volunteers of the Polish Psychopedagogical Society.

On the PTPP website in Bolesławiec, you can fill out a petition calling for Dominik to receive a lenient sentence, and send money, among other things, for Dominik’s defense, rehabilitation proceedings and therapeutic care. The istotne.pl portal and newspaper support this action; we consider it justified. We described Dominik’s entire story in the article Did Dominik Deserve Life Imprisonment? The article was widely discussed and shared in local media in the Lwówek and Lubań counties. People want to help. Every voice counts, so that not only Dominik, but also other children abused in alcoholic families, know that people are kind and compassionate.
