On Saturday, April 4, an annual taekwondo tournament organized by the Association of Korean Instructors in Germany was held in Berlin. The athletes competed in several age categories, divided into student and student-master rank categories. The bouts were held according to the new rules of the World Taekwondo Federation WTF.
The athletes from Bolesławiec won 7 medals: three gold (in the master-rank category) and four silver (in the student-rank category). The gold medalists were Kamil Serafin, Adam Filipek and Yevgen Nikitin. In the student-rank category, Remik Różnicki deserved the greatest recognition; he lost to his opponent only in the final bout, by just 2 points.
The Class A Tournament – German Open was also held in Hamburg this weekend, organized by DTU (German Taekwondo Union) and ETU (European Taekwondo Union). Krzysztof Jasiński, a representative of Poland from Bolesławiec, took part in the competition. Unfortunately, he lost to his opponent in the very first bout.
