The number of American soldiers in Bolesławiec County will increase we reported as early as June. At the time, Deputy County Executive Tomasz Gabrysiak said that at a meeting with officers of the Inspectorate for Armed Forces Support of the Republic of Poland, held in Bolesławiec, he had heard that the number of American soldiers in our county would “grow radically” over the next 3–4 years.
On Monday (September 17), another meeting on this issue was held in Świętoszów. It was attended by local government officials from Bolesławiec County and representatives of the Polish and American armies. In 2019, four US Army camps are to be established in Bolesławiec County.
Two of them will be established in the Pstrąże area, one in the Świętoszów area and one in the Mały Trzebień area. Ultimately, approximately 5,000 US Army soldiers are to be stationed in Bolesławiec County. According to information provided during the meeting in Świętoszów, the US Congress allocated $40 million for this purpose.
