For the seventh time, teams representing uniformed classes from across the country came to Bolesławiec. Their goal? To select the best competitors in events requiring excellent physical fitness, knowledge of military affairs and, above all, the ability to work efficiently as a team.

The event was organised by the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando”, with logistical support from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment and the “Baryt” Search and Rescue Unit.

Seventeen men’s teams and seven women’s teams, comprising more than 200 students in total, took part in this year’s championships. During the four-day competition held at the training facilities of the Bolesławiec unit, the teams competed in:

  • a five-kilometre team cross-country run
  • an obstacle course at the physical fitness centre
  • a swimming relay.

During the cross-country run, the teams had to complete a series of fitness tasks, including throwing grenades at a target and for distance, transporting an injured person, completing a fitness course and shooting with a sporting rifle. All the events required the competitors to be versatile and in excellent physical condition. Most importantly, however, there was no shortage of excitement and sporting rivalry.

The championships concluded with a ceremonial assembly, during which Colonel Tomasz Szewczyk, deputy head of the Department of Cooperation with Society of the Ministry of National Defence’s DEKiD, and Senior Warrant Officer, retired, Bogdan Fiałkowski, vice-president of the Association of Former Soldiers of the 62nd Special Company “Commando”, honoured the winning teams with cups, certificates of recognition and material prizes.
