The incident occurred on Friday, August 24, after 3:00 p.m., at the intersection of Lubańska Street and the road leading to a newly built housing estate. The driver of a Peugeot, a 48-year-old resident of our county, was driving along Lubańska Street and wanted to turn left. She stopped to yield to the Opel driver approaching from the opposite direction, a 36-year-old man from Lubomierz.
When the woman stopped, a 24-year-old man from Nowogrodziec Municipality, who was traveling in a Renault, crashed into the rear of her vehicle. (The youngest participant in the incident was probably driving too fast.) The force of the impact was so great that the Peugeot collided with the Opel.
Two people were injured in the collision: the 48-year-old woman and the 36-year-old man. Both were taken to hospital. It is not yet known how serious their injuries are.
