The incident occurred on Sunday, 19 August, before 9:00 a.m., on Niepodległości Street in Lubin. Police determined that the driver of an Audi passenger car failed to adjust his speed to the road conditions and caused a collision with a Toyota.
Road traffic officers detected the smell of alcohol from the perpetrator. A test showed that the 48-year-old had nearly two promille of alcohol in his system.
What is more, when the man got out of the Audi, it turned out that he had been driving the vehicle without wearing any footwear.
The 48-year-old resident of Lubin lost his driving licence. He now faces up to two years in prison.
