In accordance with the calendar of sporting events initiated by the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Commander of the State Fire Service in Wrocław in 2018, the Lower Silesian Voivodeship PSP Firefighters’ Beach Volleyball Championships were held on 16 and 17 August in Bolesławiec, at the facilities of the MOSiR Water and Sports Centre.
This year, the competition was held in August for the first time, in connection with its inclusion in the programme of accompanying events of the 24th Bolesławiec Ceramic Festival.
Sixteen pairs entered the competition for the title of Lower Silesian Voivodeship Champion, having been registered by the municipal, district and voivodeship PSP commands of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. In total, representatives of 12 organisational units of the PSP in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship took part: KW PSP in Wrocław; KM PSP in Wrocław, Wałbrzych and Jelenia Góra (2 pairs); KP PSP in Góra (2 pairs), Lwówek Śl., Świdnica, Dzierżoniów, Oleśnica, Zgorzelec, Polkowice and Bolesławiec (3 pairs).
The competition was opened by junior brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski, District PSP Commander in Bolesławiec, and Deputy Mayor of Bolesławiec Kornel Filipowicz.
The competition was conducted using the Brazilian system. On the first day, 28 matches were played, while on Friday the semi-finals, the third-place match and the final took place.
The final brought together the 2016 champions (KM PSP Wrocław) and the 2017 champions (KM PSP Wałbrzych). The Wałbrzych players Adrian Sdebel and Adrian Bochenek won, thereby securing the title of 2018 Lower Silesian Voivodeship PSP Firefighters’ Beach Volleyball Champions. Immediately after their victory, they gave an interview to Muzyczne Radio.

The competition summary and presentation of the cups and prizes were conducted by junior brigadier Andrzej Śliwowski, assisted by District Board Member Stanisław Chwojnicki, Mayor of Bolesławiec Piotr Roman and MOSiR Director Jacek Dudyński. The Lower Silesian Voivodeship PSP Commander in Wrocław, senior brigadier Adam Konieczny, watched the semi-final matches together with the invited guests, but unfortunately could not attend the closing ceremony.

The organisers sincerely thank everyone who contributed to staging the competition, as well as the sponsors, thanks to whom all the players left Bolesławiec with commemorative T-shirts, the winners of the contests received ceramics, and the finalists received material prizes.
