The devices were officially handed over on Friday, 10 August, at the Bolesławiec County Police Headquarters. The drug tests and breathalyzers were handed over to County Police Commander Dariusz Borski by Bolesławiec Mayor Piotr Roman. In total, the Bolesławiec police received around 100 drug tests and 5 breathalyzers. The total value of the devices handed over to the police was approximately PLN 15,000. The devices will be distributed to police patrols. One breathalyzer will be available at the police headquarters, where anyone will be able to come and check whether they are under the influence of alcohol.

Drug tests are becoming an increasingly popular tool used by police officers to check drivers of motor vehicles for the presence of psychoactive substances in their bodies. The equipment detects opiates, cocaine, amphetamine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, benzodiazepines and THC in saliva. It is worth remembering that a person driving a car or another vehicle under the influence of intoxicating substances is subject to a fine, a restriction of liberty or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
The breathalyzers provided for self-testing alcohol levels are quick, easy-to-use, non-contact indicators (without a mouthpiece) of the presence or absence of alcohol in exhaled air.
