On Saturday, 21 March, the eleventh Oberlausitz-Cup taekwondo tournament was held in Radimor, Germany (near Bautzen). It was organized by the Lower Saxony WTF Taekwondo Association. UKS Ilyo Bolesławiec athletes competed in the event for the second time. The athletes from Bolesławiec took second place in the overall standings, finishing ahead of 21 clubs. First place went to the club from Meiningen, which proved just one point better than the team from Bolesławiec.
The Bolesławiec club won 14 medals: 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze. Among the athletes, 9-year-old Kacper Różnicki deserved the greatest recognition. He won all his bouts, confidently defeating even opponents a head taller than him.
The tournament in Radimor was another test of the UKS Ilyo athletes’ form before they compete in the qualifiers and finals of the Polish Championships.
