The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 31, in Trzebień (Bolesławiec municipality). Two men—a Pole and a Ukrainian, a truck driver—got into an argument.
When the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters received a report of two men causing a disturbance in Trzebień, he sent a patrol there.
When the officers arrived at the scene, the 54-year-old Ukrainian began to stagger and shortly afterward lost consciousness. An ambulance was called. The emergency medical team pronounced the Ukrainian citizen dead.
An autopsy will determine what really happened. Police are investigating the case under the supervision of the Bolesławiec prosecutor’s office.
