We received a tip from a reader from the Kwiatowe housing estate in Bolesławiec. She sent us a photo of Grabowa Street after a downpour.
Bolesławiec, Grabowa Street, one month after the work. Money thrown into the mud again.
Agnieszka Gergont, spokeswoman for the City Office, explains:
Grabowa Street was not renovated. The work consisted exclusively of laying road slabs (reinforcing the surface)—construction work not requiring a building permit.
At this stage, the road has no drainage system. The road was shaped so that rainwater flowing from the properties would collect in the middle of the road and, through drainage channels with grates (pictured below), could soak into the ground. The work carried out so far—reinforcing the surface of Grabowa Street—was necessary because the road is the only route for traffic and transport, including the delivery of construction materials and heavy equipment to the developing housing estate on Sokola Street. The new road could be damaged very quickly.
The City Office’s investment plans for the coming years include constructing the road on Grabowa Street with drainage and lighting.
