At the end of June, a boxing picnic marking the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining its independence was held in Zagórze Śląskie. The event was combined with a fundraiser for Artur Klaia, who suffers from muscle wasting.
The picnic’s guests of honor included such distinguished figures as: Marian Kasprzyk, Olympic champion in Tokyo; Seoul Olympic bronze medalist Janusz Zarenkiewicz; and… European champion in Madrid, Ryszard Tomczyk.
Boxers from TOP Boks Bolesławiec were also present. Both Piotr Motyka and Michał Ambroży drew their bouts. (The Bolesławiec athletes’ opponents represented Boks Wałbrzych and Polonia Świdnica.)
