During the June session of the Bolesławiec County Council, the issue of Bolesławiec’s north-eastern bypass returned. County Head Karol Stasik said that the County would like to abandon the Golnice–Dąbrowa section. (The traffic load would then focus primarily on the exit from the A4 motorway. After all, people travelling to Golnice or Łąka also use the motorways.)

What does this mean?

The overpass above the county road would then be abandoned in favour of a roundabout, which would be built at the edge of the economic zone in Bolesławiec. The result? The entire project would cost not PLN 147 million, but PLN 94 million less, meaning that the investment would be “easier to swallow” and, consequently, less troublesome for drivers.

The County, together with the City of Bolesławiec, wants to approach UMWD so that it removes the nearly PLN 150-million project from the Multiannual Financial Forecast and introduces this cheaper one instead.

Will this happen? We will return to the matter.
