On Wednesday, March 11, police officers from Nowogrodziec detained a 58-year-old driver during a traffic check. The man was slurring his speech. The officers smelled alcohol on him.
The 58-year-old offered the officers PLN 1,500 in exchange for abandoning their official duties. The police informed the driver that attempting to offer a bribe is a crime.
As it turned out, the man was completely drunk. He had nearly 2 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system. He was taken to police custody. He faces up to 10 years in prison.
