In an email to the editorial office, a reader wrote:

It could end tragically. Young boys are riding bicycles down the dilapidated ramps at the skatepark near the viaduct without appropriate protective equipment—for example, helmets.

He added:

It probably does not take much imagination to foresee what could happen when a boy loses control of his bicycle and hits his head on the ground while riding down the ramp…

We asked Zbigniewa Kowalczyka, deputy head of the Municipal Sports and Recreation Centre in Bolesławiec, which manages the skatepark, about the matter. The MOSiR deputy director informed us that the facility’s rules clearly state that “every person using the skatepark equipment is required to have and use a complete set of protective pads and a protective helmet throughout the entire ride.”
