The fourth edition of the competition commemorating the Olech brothers, outstanding boxers from the capital of Lower Silesia, took place in Wrocław last weekend. The City of Ceramics was represented at the Memorial by Piotr Motyka (64 kg, 18 bouts) from TOP Boks Bolesławiec.
Coach Tomasz Tomczyk:
Piotrek fought two bouts. On Saturday, in the semifinal, he defeated Kamil Dybikowski from Jaskinia Lwa Ziębice. On Sunday, in the final, he lost 2:1 to Piotr Tobolski (64 kg, 56 bouts).
Our boxer normally competes in the lightweight division—60 kg—but there was no opponent for him, so he entered the higher 64 kg division. In the final, he faced his teammate from the Lower Silesia team; they box together in the Olympic Boxing League.
The next league match will be away—on June 2 in Poznań. Piotr Motyka’s coaches are the European champion from Madrid, Ryszard Tomczyk, and Tomasz Tomczyk. The latter adds:
Piotrek has a draw and a defeat in the League. Maybe it is time for a victory?
