The incident occurred on Tuesday, May 22, before 8:00 p.m., on Cieszkowskiego Street, at the Kruszyń roundabout. Two cars collided. The perpetrator, a 32-year-old man from Bolesławiec County, who failed to keep a safe distance and hit another vehicle, fled the scene.
The injured driver suffered no serious harm; he was only fitted with an orthopedic collar. The passenger of the car that was hit, a 36-year-old resident of Miasto Ceramiki, was taken to hospital with a spinal injury. Fortunately, it turned out that the injury was not very serious.
The perpetrator was arrested. He was drunk; his blood alcohol level was 1.6 per mille.
The man will face justice in court.
