Annual leave is available to an employee employed under an employment contract, and its length depends on the number of years worked. Under the applicable Labour Code, an employee is entitled to 20 days of leave when their employment period is shorter than 10 years. A person whose length of service exceeds 10 years is entitled to 26 days of rest. It should also be remembered that the period of education is included in the length of service.
– An employee may use the number of annual leave days to which they are entitled in any month and divide them as they see fit, after first agreeing this with their supervisor. However, under the applicable Labour Code regulations, part of the leave should be taken continuously for at least 14 calendar days – Piotr, a specialist from Aplikuj.pl, reminds us.

The Carpathians, the Sudetes and the Świętokrzyskie Mountains await those who prefer more active pursuits and mountain hikes. There is also no shortage of picturesque places ideal for spending a holiday in Masuria. Its lakes are particularly popular with tourists who enjoy sailing or yacht cruises.
Among European destinations, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Bulgaria are popular with Poles. These countries attract visitors primarily with their beautiful beaches, high temperatures, attractive prices, multi-star hotels, international cuisine and numerous attractions.
Where NOT to go on holiday?
Before making a final decision about how to spend our holiday, it is worth checking first of all whether the place we are travelling to is safe and whether anything will disrupt our rest. There are many touristically interesting countries in Europe and around the world where civil wars, riots, protests or street demonstrations are taking place. Some resorts, particularly in Muslim countries, become targets of terrorist attacks. Warnings against travelling to dangerous places are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, so it is worth following the notices published on the government website msz.gov.pl. Current warnings concern countries such as Ukraine, Colombia, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines. These are destinations the ministry particularly advises against in view of the current political situation in the country. Safety is unquestionably the most important thing, so before every trip it is worth making sure that the place we are travelling to does not pose a threat to us.
