Classes for the second-year veterinary technical school students, devoted to “Providing first aid to animals injured in road accidents,” were held using a dog mannequin and animals brought in for the occasion. To learn how to provide first aid effectively, a mannequin is essential, as it makes it possible to practise the sequence of actions required to save life or health in emergencies.

The dog mannequin was specially brought to ZSHiU from the United States because it is unavailable on the Polish market. Thanks to this purchase, the range of professional equipment available at the veterinary technical school has expanded; “Handlówka” already has, among other things, the latest ultrasound scanner.

ZSHiU community:

During the lesson, cardiopulmonary resuscitation was performed, and practice with the newly purchased equipment taught the students how to effectively save animals injured in road accidents. The lesson was an introduction to a series of first-aid classes, which are very important for future veterinary technicians. Proper resuscitation is knowledge that makes it possible to effectively help our four-legged companions.
