Residents of Trzebień wrote a letter to the head of the Ministry of National Defence Mariusz Błaszczak. The document reads:
[...] We live near the Trzebień Mały military camp, where military exercises take place. US troops have been stationed in the Republic of Poland for several years now. The Polish state authorities had known about the arrival of the aforementioned troops for a long time. So far, nothing has been done in the Trzebień area to designate a suitable route for the passage of oversized military vehicles. The roads running in front of our village are not adapted for this type of transport. As a result of the passage of convoys in 2016, 2017 and this year, in April, the road, verges and roadside infrastructure in the village were damaged [...].
We live in constant fear for our own safety and that of our children. Military vehicles and those serving the military drive along the narrow road where we live. The passage of heavy transports is extremely troublesome. It causes noise and air pollution and poses a threat to pedestrians, especially children on their way to school.
We cannot even move freely along the narrow verges, as passing convoys of vehicles practically push us into the ditches. [...]
Military traffic is expected to increase soon. We no longer have the strength or the nerves for this. The residents are determined.
Will Minister Błaszczak respond? We will certainly return to this subject.
