The incident occurred in Bolesławiec shortly before 9:00 p.m. The man was crossing at the pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Grunwaldzka and Zgorzelecka Streets, near Eurobank. He was hit by a car driven by a well-known Bolesławiec pastor, who was turning left from Grunwaldzka Street. Apparently, he did not notice the pedestrian.
The police and emergency medical services were called to the scene. The injured man suffered a serious leg fracture. An ambulance took him to hospital.
The priest will be questioned by the police. He will also be tested for alcohol in his blood.
The pastor remained with the injured man throughout.

Proceedings in the case are ongoing. It turned out that the pedestrian was intoxicated, but in this particular case it is irrelevant because he was crossing properly at the pedestrian crossing. The injured man suffered an open fracture of the lower-leg bone.
The case will ultimately be decided in court.
