The fire broke out during the night of April 11–12 in the center of Warta Bolesławiecka. The fire started in an abandoned building located near the church. As we read on the Facebook profile of volunteer firefighters from Raciborowice:

Upon arriving at the scene, it turned out that the entire roof of the two-story building of a former inn was on fire. No one was inside. Extinguishing operations inside the building were impossible because its structure and condition posed a risk of collapse. The firefighting and demolition work ended after 12 hours.

Firefighters from Bolesławiec, Warta Bolesławiecka, Raciborowice, Nowogrodziec, and Jurków took part in the operation, along with the police, emergency power services and the building inspectorate.
