An ordinary walk becomes an obstacle course. Although more and more people clean up after their pets, the situation still needs improvement. The Bolesławiec Municipal Police once again reminds all dog owners of the applicable regulations concerning the obligation to clean up after their pets. Failure to fulfil this obligation is an offence for which a municipal police officer may impose a fine of up to PLN 500.
While patrolling the city, municipal police officers pay attention to such behaviour. The presence of an officer often triggers a nervous search for a bag, tissue or anything else that could be used to clean up the dog poop. This demonstrates awareness of the obligation placed on the dog owner. It is worth mentioning that no intervention ends solely with a penalty; it also involves ordering the waste to be cleaned up.
Bolesławiec Municipal Police:
We would like to draw particular attention to the fact that dog waste left on our lawns, in parks or in sandpits poses a real threat, especially to children’s health. We remind you that free dog-waste bags are available at our unit’s headquarters and can be collected during the Municipal Police’s office hours:
- Monday–Friday, from 7:30 to 23:00
- Saturday, from 10:00 to 20:00.
